WASHINGTON - Twelve innovative solutions for addressing plastic microfibre pollution have been selected as finalists with a chance of winning a share of US$650,000 as part of the Conservation X Labs’ (CXL) Microfiber Innovation Challenge.

Launched in January, with support from sportswear firm Under Armour, surf wear brand Finisterre and materials manufacturer Bolt Threads, as well as industry NGOs Fashion for Good, Canopy and the Microfibre Consortium, the challenge has helped identify the most promising and scalable technologies.

“These are some of the most revolutionary innovations that are needed to create a more sustainable future,” said CXL co-founder, Paul Bunie. “We’re excited to provide critical support to the real solutions, products, and tools that are addressing the exponentially growing plastic pollution crisis.”
