VANCOUVER - Animal rights group PETA is calling on the board of directors of athleticwear brand Lululemon to publish a report on the slaughter methods used to obtain the down used in its jackets.

PETA has bought stock in a number of brands, including Lululemon, so that it could submit shareholder resolutions and attend annual meetings to pressure companies on their animal welfare policies.

It wants to ascertain whether Lululemon's sourcing of down is compatible with the company's policy and - if it is found not to be - how the company will mitigate risks associated with that discrepancy.
