DHAKA - Garment manufacturers in Bangladesh are coming together in a bid to set a minimum price for their products to ensure they are paid an 'ethical' price by international retailers and brands.
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) have formed a joint committee to agree minimum prices.
In an exclusive interview with Ecotextile News, BGMEA president Faruque Hassan recently told how he believed brands and retailers would pay a premium for more sustainably-produced garments.
