AMSTERDAM – Fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger has announced the two winning start-ups of the latest Fashion Frontier Challenge to be Dutch artificial intelligence (AI) specialist Lalaland and ‘sustainable’ Rwandan business Uzuri K&Y.
The pair beat off competition from more than 400 applicants to win the award and will resultantly share €200,000 (US$226,000) in funding, receive a year-long mentorship with both Tommy Hilfiger and experts from the INSEAD private business school, and earn a place in the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Program.
Hilfiger commented: “This empowering challenge brought together passionate and hardworking individuals with fresh ideas on how to create a future of fashion we can all look forward to. I am proud to continue this journey with the entrepreneurs who presented ground-breaking and impactful solutions that challenge how we think, build and create.”
