AMSTERDAM – Retail giants JC Penney and Decathlon have joined the ZDHC Foundation’s Roadmap to Zero programme to promote sustainable chemical management across the textile, leather and footwear industry.

JC Penney, which has more than 650 stores across the US and Puerto Rico, and French sporting good retailer Decathlon, which operates nearly 1,700 stores in 60 countries and regions, both join the ZDHC as brand contributors.

The US retailer said it would be looking to ZDHC to steer it towards clarity on how best to remove hazardous chemicals and enhance responsible sourcing and manufacturing practices throughout its supply chain.
