ESPOO - Finnish startup Nordic Bioproducts says it has successfully spun a new plant-based textile fibre made from forest industry by-products, textile waste and paper pulp.

The Aalto University spin-off's Norratex fibre, which it says is manufactured without the use of toxic chemicals or expensive solvents, makes use of its patented AaltoCell technology.

Nordic Bioproducts has also announced a collaboration with CMPC Ventures, one of the largest producers of wood pulp in the world, to provide it with raw materials.
