WASHINGTON DC - The World Resources Institute (WRI) has issued a six-point call to action to the apparel industry to put the sector back on track to meet the 1.5C pathway of the Paris Agreement on climate change.

WRI consultant Michael Sadowski and Cynthia Cummis, director of private sector climate mitigation in the organisation's Business Center, say the sector is currently "well off pace" to deliver the 45 per cent reduction in carbon emissions needed.

The WRI recently teamed up with the Apparel Impact Institute to publish the 'Roadmap to Net Zero' report which lays out the steps that apparel companies would need to take to meet the ambitious targets.
