SYDNEY – Australian surfwear brand Piping Hot has forged a research partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) to develop fibre from seaweed.
Climate scientists at UTS will take the lead determining how such a biomaterial could be leveraged to support Piping Hot’s sustainability efforts.
Stan Wan, Piping Hot’s CEO and managing director, said: “It is an honour and privilege to partner with the distinguished Professor Peter Ralph and the UTS Climate Change Cluster. Together we intend to impact change though marine science and transform the industry's reliance on fossil fuels.”
