NEW YORK – US manufacturer Ultrafabrics has partnered with Austrian fibre giant Lenzing to launch what it says will be the first polyurethane material to incorporate Tencel modal fibres as a backcloth within its collections.

The link up is deemed complementary to Ultrafabric’s mission of ensuring its entire portfolio integrates at least 50 per cent renewable or recycled content by 2030.

“We are pleased to be aligned with the Tencel brand and the Lenzing family, a bold company with equally ambitious sustainability goals. They share our focus on bringing our sustainability journey to the forefront, without sacrificing quality or product integrity,” said Ultrafabrics’ senior director of product development, Jennifer Hendren.
