BRUSSELS - More industry stakeholders have reacted to this week's unveiling the European Union's highly anticipated Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles which aims to transform the industry by 2030.

Measures include a mandatory EU extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme, ecodesign requirements for textile products, action to tackle microfibre pollution and greenwashing, and a new 'digital product passport'.

The Policy Hub, a joint project from the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), Global Fashion Agenda, Textile Exchange and the ZDHC Foundation, has come out in support of the strategy.
