BONN - The Femnet NGO, which campaigns for women's rights in the global apparel industry, is challenging European online retailer Zalando on its sourcing from Myanmar and Bangladesh.

The German organisation points out that, like most online retailers, Zalando's profits have shot up during the coronavirus pandemic when physical stores were in lockdown.

Femnet says that Zalando enjoyed a 34 per cent growth in its business last year while garment workers were losing their jobs or wages because of cancelled orders.
