ZURICH – Swiss textile industry stakeholders have come together to support a new framework through which they’ve committed to improving the sector’s environmental and social sustainability credentials.

The new Sustainable Textiles Switzerland (STS) 2030 programme, launched by Swiss Textiles, Swiss Fair Trade and Amfori, has rallied native brands, retailers and manufacturers which will work by shared targets aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sportswear retailer Transa Backpacking said in a statement: “From a self-image, we want to take responsibility and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. STS 2030 supports us in joining forces with allies on the path towards a more sustainable economy.”
