LONDON - Animal rights organisation PETA has released video footage which it says shows snakes being abused in Indonesia before their skins are sold to fashion brands to make shoes and handbags.

The footage shows workers cutting live snakes' tails off with machetes, hitting them over the head with a hammer and then nailing them to a wooden board while they are still fully conscious.
