BERLIN/LONDON – Fashion retailers Zalando, Yoox Net-A-Porter (YNAP) and About You have teamed up to launch an online learning platform that will support their brand partners in setting carbon emission reduction targets.
The three firms have themselves established such goals, aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and believe collaboration is an effective way to strive for collective improvements across the fashion sector.
“We see an industry-changing momentum in aligning greenhouse gas emission reduction pathways with science,” noted Hannes Wiese, co-founder and co-CEO of About You. “46.6 per cent of our partners on greenhouse gas emissions had their targets approved by February 2022. We invite the remaining business partners to do the same.”
