XINJIANG – Hundreds of Chinese organisations have signed a letter addressed to Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, urging that she doesn’t “fabricate false accusations” made by “anti-China forces” in an upcoming assessment of her visit to the country’s Xinjiang region.

The letter insists Bachelet “gained good knowledge” of the “fact and truth” that people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang “enjoy various forms of human rights in accordance with law”.

It comes hot on the heels of the release of the Xinjiang Police Files, released by leading researcher Adrian Zenz, which included the internment details of more than 20,000 Uyghur Muslims, as well as images of the detainees. Ecotextile News hears from Zenz in our upcoming issue, out this week.
