COLOMBO - Garment factory owners in Sri Lanka have welcomed support from NGOs and brands in response to their country's economic crisis.
The Joint Apparel Association Forum Sri Lanka (JAAF) thanked both the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and the American Apparel and Footwear Association’s (AAFA) for their support.
JAAF, which represents five garment industry trade bodies, said the moves complemented and enhanced worker welfare measures already taken by the industry, and demonstrated brands' commitment to Sri Lanka as a long term partner.
