CALIFORNIA – Textile innovator Natural Fiber Welding (NFW) has joined forces with the California Cotton & Climate Coalition (C4), led by ‘sustainable’ supply chain advocate Fibershed, in a bid to adopt ‘climate beneficial’, transparent cotton.

NFW, which claims that its plant-based plastic-free leather alternative already boasts a carbon footprint 10x less of conventional animal leather, wants to adopt C4 cotton to produce Mirum’s fabric backers, which it believes will further improve the material’s credentials.

To support this venture, Stella McCartney, Pangaia, Reformation and Allbirds have also announced collaborations with NFW with the view to adopting Mirum made with C4 cotton.
