SPARTANBURG – US apparel manufacturer Milliken & Company has had its carbon reduction goals approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

In doing so, the company is among the first 50 firms globally to have their emission reduction targets approved by the UN-backed SBTi, and commits to mitigating its environmental impact in line with the latest climate science.

“At Milliken, sustainability is a core value,” said Halsey Cook, the manufacturer’s president and CEO. “Climate change is placing pressure on communities, on companies and on our planet. The time to take meaningful action is now.”
