WINSTON-SALEM - US-based multinational clothing company Hanesbrands Inc (HBI), which owns brands including Champion, Playtex and Wonderbra, has launched a sustainable fashion project in the Dominican Republic.

HBI has partnered with the Slow Fashion Foundation and a group of public and private bodies for the Textile Recovery Project which aims to promote the reuse of textile waste in the country.

The programme also targets social and economic development in vulnerable communities in the Dominican Republic while protecting land and resources through responsible textile waste management.
