LONDON – Consumer research from eBay and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) indicates that the British public will shop secondhand this festive season.
Conducted ahead of Black Friday, findings suggest that more than half (52 per cent) of the 2,000-strong sample expect to shop pre-owned goods this year – including fashion, electronics and furniture – in part due to rising costs.
Murray Lambell, general manager of eBay UK said: “In its current form Black Friday is broken, but it’s not too late to make it relevant for today’s consumer.”
