MUNICH – German technology start-up Sizekick has secured €1.3 million (US$1.3m) in new funding which will be used to expand the company’s workforce and launch its smartphone-compatible sizing solution.
The Bavarian business offers an artificial intelligence-based online plug-in that consumers can leverage to take accurate body scans, helping inform sizing suggestions and ultimately mitigate unnecessary returns.
The firm’s main backer was textile testing, certifications and product labels authority Hohenstein, which hailed the technology’s development as an “important step for the entire fashion industry in making online retail more sustainable”.
