AMSTERDAM - The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) says its brand members could ultimately face expulsion from the organisation if they fail to set Science Based Targets (SBTs) from next year as required under its new Decarbonisation Programme.

The SAC says it is now implementing processes for assessing the progression of its member brands, and for providing them with support and guidance, on meeting the new requirements.

But it added: "Should there be a continued failure to demonstrate commitment to the requirements and the SAC, there is a process for escalation to the SAC Board, to determine a suitable course of action up to and including termination of membership if necessary."
