BRUSSELS - Textile and clothing industry body Euratex and the IndustriALL global trade union have issued a joint statement calling for measures to protect both workers and employers from the impacts of the proposed European Union (EU) Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles.

The two bodies say the strategy, which aims to shift the European textiles industry from a linear to a circular model by 2030, will be a major transformation of the sector which will affect both industry and workers.

Euratex and IndustriALL say they want to speak out to jointly highlight both the challenges and opportunities of the proposals and make a call for action to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
