GRAN CANARIA – The European Fashion Alliance (EFA), a collective of 29 member organisations, has put forward a package of measures and actions it believes could accelerate sustainability efforts on the continent.

Representatives from the likes of the British Fashion Council, the Centre for Sustainable Fashion and Copenhagen Fashion Week attended the alliance’s first summit, in Gran Canaria, to outline recommendations which address sustainability, education, policy and innovation.

Caroline Rush, the British Fashion Council’s CEO, commented: “With common values and language and common understanding of measurement tools, it is important for our designers that when they go into France, Italy, Germany or Denmark or anywhere else, that they have a good and common understanding of the framework that is expected from them in terms of sustainability.”
