MILAN – Registrations are now open for Planet Textiles 2023 which takes place at ITMA Milan in June where it will focus on sustainable innovations that aim to future proof global textile supply chains.

The two-day sustainability event takes place on 12 – 13 June at the Fiera Milano Rho, will bring together textile and apparel organisations, industry leaders and other stakeholders with a commitment to drive sustainability in the industry.

Organised by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, key themes of the event include a look at nature-based solutions and raw materials, circularity, scaling innovation from pilot-scale, sustainable finance and ESG investing.

You can register for the event here.

There will be a major focus on collective action on climate in the textile sector, with new developments revealed around decarbonisation of supply chains and how these impacts on existing commitments from brands, preferential materials, biodiversity, and the environmental impacts of chemical and water use in production.

Other key themes under discussion include ‘the data of sustainability’ where delegates can learn more about transparency, next-generation technology, clean energy solutions and artificial intelligence.

The SAC says that “partnership is the new leadership” and will talk about the organisations strategy going forward and issues around policy and legislation.

Decent work for all will be another major focus over the two days of Planet Textiles with leading figures in the NGO space advocating for equal partnerships and due diligence along with the costs of compliance.

Potential speakers and delegates can find out more by visiting the Planet Textiles page on the SAC website.
