ZURICH – The Standards Convergence Initiative (SCI) has issued a call to action to brands, retailers and standard holders to help reduce audit fatigue in the textile and apparel industry.
The SCI wants brands and retailers to quickly make the switch to converged schemes - such as the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) - to avoid suppliers having to undergo multiple audits to meet the requirements of different standards.
And it is asking leading certification schemes and standard holders to explore closer alignment and data sharing to reduce the need for separate data collection and verification.
