GAZANTIEP - More fashion companies have been responding to the earthquake disaster in southern Turkey and northern Syria where the official death toll has now passed 35,000 and - according to the UN - is likely to be at least double that.

French sporting goods and apparel retailer Decathlon has set up a "solidarity fund" of €1 million (US$1.1m) to provide financial aid to NGOs actively involved in helping and supporting those affected.

This comes on top of €1 million (US$1.1m) worth of warm clothes and winter equipment donated within the first 24 hours after a series of earthguakes hit the region.
