GENEVA - Current research on the transition to a circular economy has failed to address the impact on people in developing countries in the Global South, according to a new report.

Entitled 'Decent Work in the Circular Economy', the study was produced by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Solutions for Youth Employment (S4YE) programme at the World Bank, and the Circle Economy NGO.

It says the transition to a circular economy - in which waste such as unwanted textiles and clothing is re-used or recycled - could lead to millions of new jobs but calls for policies to promote job quality and environmental sustainability.
