BRUSSELS - Faster progress is needed on reducing both consumption and waste to achieve a more circular economy in the European Union (EU), according to a new report.
The European Commission’s revised circular economy monitoring framework - published this week - aims to track progress in the transition to a circular economy in the EU.
The report includes new indicators to monitor the EU’s production and consumption system, as well as progress towards meeting waste prevention targets.
