MILAN – More new speakers have been announced for the forthcoming Planet Textiles event which kicks off on June 12th in the Congress Centre at ITMA 2023 in Milan.
They include Zubeida Zwavel, executive director of Centre for African Resource Efficiency and Sustainability (CARES) who will give the opening keynote speech.
Also confirmed as speaking are Jeremy Lardeau, VP for Higg Index at the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC); James Schaffer, chief strategy officer, Worldly (formerly Higg); and Payal Luthra, global apparel and textile lead, WWF.
The event will also be hearing from Bob Assenburg, fund director, Good Fashion Fund; Martha Willis, senior sustainability manager, C&A; Jonas Eder-Hansen, chief operations officer, Global Fashion Agenda; Mia Gunawan, global sustainability programme manager, H&M; Alexander Kohnstamm, executive director, Fair Wear; and Klaas Nuttbohm, implementation director, ZDHC.
Previously announced speakers include Amina Razvi, CEO, Sustainable Apparel Coalition; Delman Lee, vice chair, of Hong Kong apparel firm TAL Group; Pascal Brun, head of sustainability at H&M; Sophie Mather, founding director, The Microfibre Consortium; and Kurt Kipka, chief impact officer at the Apparel Impact Institute.
The event is taking place at the ITMA trade event, the world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, once again after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Further speaker details can be found HERE.
Planet Textiles will once again provide the opportunity to collaborate and work towards driving collective action, change and progress within the sector.
The event will explore the following key themes: collective action on climate; the data of sustainability; decent work for all; the nature of sustainable fashion; and changing legislative landscapes.
Organised by the SAC, and run in partnership with MCL News and Media, publisher of Ecotextile News, the 11th edition Planet Textiles will for the first time take place over two days from 12th – 13th June at ITMA 2023, at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre in Milan, Italy.
