BELFAST – A public consultation conducted by the Northern Ireland government’s Department for the Economy has highlighted that textiles are viewed by the nation’s population as a key material for inclusion in future circularity legislation.

Responses from the Northern Irish people comprised calls for lawmakers to include textiles in environmental policies and for a tougher stance to be taken against companies sending unsold, unworn apparel to landfill.
