DHAKA - Fifteen leading global brands, including Adidas, Gap and Levi's, have written a joint letter to the Bangladeshi prime minister calling for a significant increase in the minimum wage for the country's garment workers.

A tripartite board was set up in March to review the minimum wage for garment workers - which has been BDT8,000 (US$75) a month since 2019 - but has still to reach a conclusion as garment workers struggle to make ends meet amidst spiralling inflation.
