CLERMONT-FERRAND - Biotech firm Carbios has been granted the go-ahead for the world’s first PET biorecycling plant which will use the company’s propriety depolymerisation technology for the processing of textile waste.

With building permits and operating authorisation now in place, the plant will be built in Longlaville in the Grand-Est Region of France on a 13.7-hectare site adjacent to the existing PET production plant of its strategic partner, Indorama Ventures (IVL).
