STOCKHOLM - Highly toxic perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), which as well as being a PFAS 'forever' chemical is globally banned, has been found in a number of outdoor jackets and clothing purchased and tested by non-profits Arnika and the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN).
The recent study found the substances in clothing purchased from 13 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, with most of the garments marketed for children and many of the products coming into direct contact with skin.
