WASHINGTON DC – A Chinese textile producer faces expulsion from the Better Cotton initiative after it was added to the list of companies banned from exporting its products into the US because of alleged links to forced labour.
Anhui Xinya New Materials Co Ltd was one of three companies added to the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List which bans products with connections to the Xinjiang region which produces a fifth of the world's cotton.
