WASHINGTON DC - The PETA animal welfare organisation has lodged a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against the Sustainable Fibre Alliance's (SFA) Cashmere Standard certification.

PETA claims that the SFA, whose members include brands such as Burberry, J.Crew, and Madewell, is misleading consumers with its claims that the Cashmere Standard ensures the welfare of goats used in wool production.
