Kering, Eileen Fisher partner with Spiber

YAMAGATA – Japanese biotechnology company Spiber has recruited French fashion congolomerate Kering’s Material Innovation Lab (MIL), US brand Eileen Fisher, Scottish cashmere specialist Johnstons of Elgin and textile chemicals supplier Dystar as partners on its biosphere circulation project.

The initiative aims to establish a system for creating fully circular textile products by using fermentation technology to turn bio-based textile waste and agricultural byproducts into new materials.
