SEOUL – Hyosung, the world’s largest manufacturer of elastane, says it is to invest $1 billion in establishing a bio-based, raw material supply chain.
The initial investment includes plans to build a new, 50,000 tonne, bio-BDO (butanediol) plant in Vietnam in partnership with US-based biotechnology firm Geno. Further plants are expected to follow.
