Netherlands targets ‘circular’ textile industry by 2050

The Netherlands has outlined the second phase of its plan aimed at achieving a fully circular textile industry within the next 25 years.

Contaminants and non-textile waste in German collection containers have risen from 10.8% in 2018 to between 15 and 20% today.

The Dutch government has published a new policy programme which outlines its strategy for transitioning to a fully circular textile industry by 2050.

The document, which builds upon the previous 2020-2025 programme, sets out objectives and policies for the next five years.
