Unifi to shutter North Carolina yarn facility

GREENSBORO – US polyester yarn supplier Unifi is to close down and sell its Madison County production facility in North Carolina and shift its yarn manufacturing operations to other facilities in North Carolina and Central America – where the company has production in El Salvador.

The closure is intended to improve overall operation efficiencies, lower fixed costs and improve profitability at the US-based maker of Repreve branded recycled polyester yarn.
