UK’s first fashion robotics lab aims to make apparel manufacturing more sustainable and support nearshoring

MANCHESTER - Fashion companies and researchers are being invited to take advantage of collaborative robotic technology – ‘cobots’ – which can be programmed to create sustainable high value, low volume garments at a new UK facility.

The £3.8m Robotics Living Lab (RoLL) at Manchester Met’s Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) aims to modernise sustainable fashion manufacturing, support nearshoring and help address an industry skills shortage.
