US tariffs, PFAS alternatives, the digital product passport and the harmonisation of certification were all in the spotlight at the recent Performance Days outdoor exhibition in Munich
MUNICH - The debut ‘Day 0’ event held prior to the recent Performance Days exhibition in Munich proved to be a valuable platform for outdoor brands to exchange views and included a somewhat lively discussion about textile, chemical and social standards and certification.
This debate featured panellists from Bluesign, Hohenstein, Fair Wear and the University of Leeds which was framed around the context of the in-coming Digital Product Passport (DPP) and the desperate need for some unification of industry standards in the fragmented world of certification. This was seen as being a crucial next step for the industry to avoid the mounting duplication of work and the minimisation of mounting supplier costs, according to the zip supplier YKK.
