Researchers claims integrating cutting-edge digital technologies with circularity could reduce the textile industry’s environmental footprint
NAPLES - Combining the Internet of Things (IoT) with circular economy principles could create a closed-loop model for textile production, according to a new study published in the Journal of Cleaner Production.
The research shows that combining life cycle assessments (LCA) and value stream mapping reduced waste, emissions and resource consumption in textile production, particularly when paired with innovative materials like recycled PET and spent coffee grounds (SCG).
