Biotech startup Solena Materials has raised $6.7 million in a seed funding round to accelerate the production of its next-generation, protein-based fibres.

The new funding will be used to expand its manufacturing base, help form commercial partnerships with leading fashion brands, and strengthen its intellectual property portfolio. The aim is to launch its first products within three years.
