ILO moves to protect Myanmar garment workers

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to initiate action against Myanmar for failure to comply with conventions on freedom of association and forced labour.

The decision, which was made during the 113th session of the ILO conference, held in Geneva, Switzerland on 5th June, will see the organisation invoke Article 33 of the ILO Constitution, its strongest measure for enforcement.
