Farm waste used to make cellulosic textiles – study

GOTHENBURG - A new study by researchers at Chalmers University of Technology highlights the potential of agricultural waste from wheat and oat crops to make cellulose-based textiles.

They argue that producing cellulose from such feedstocks instead of wood is easier, requires fewer chemicals, reduces pressure on forests and gives value to agricultural waste.
