Cascale challenges European Commission after it confirms plans to withdraw its Green Claims Directive under political pressure

Organisations are encouraged to add their names to the letter

BRUSSELS - Cascale - formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition - has accused the European Union (EU) of "soft-pedalling on environmental requirements"
following the dropping of proposed laws to tackle greenwashing.

The European Commission has confirmed it intends to withdraw its Green Claims Directive – which was designed to prevent businesses from making misleading, vague or false environmental claims - under pressure from the centre-right EPP Group.
