European Commission publishes draft regulation detailing when businesses may destroy unsold textiles, clothing and footwear

BRUSSELS — The European Commission has published a draft delegated regulation detailing the circumstances in which businesses can destroy unsold consumer products.

The proposed regulation, now out for consultation, would supplement the landmark Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) which came into force in July 2024.
