New Global Responsible Textile Standard aims to extend principles of health, ecology, fairness, and care to a broader range of fibres
Global Standard, the non-profit organisation behind the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), has launched a public consultation period ahead of its new voluntary sustainability standard, the Global Responsible Textile Standard (GRTS).
While GOTS will remain Global Standard’s benchmark for organic textiles, the new GRTS aims to extend the same principles of health, ecology, fairness, and care to a broader range of fibres. It will also enable companies using other responsible fibres to credibly demonstrate both environmental and social performance under the same system.
