Retailers, nonprofits and sustainable textile initiatives are among more than 300 organisations calling on European policymakers to safeguard core sustainable finance rules, reflecting widespread concern that the EU Omnibus may weaken legislation they say is crucial to competitiveness and economic growth.

The first so-called Omnibus packages of simplification measures focuses on the European Union’s (EU) Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
